Our report and survey will provide a detailed assessment of the property’s moisture profile, using professional-grade diagnostic equipment to identify areas of concern. The findings are presented using three primary metrics:

1. Wood Moisture Equivalent (PINS) (WME): This measures moisture in non-timber material, as if they were wood, and provides a standardised scale across different surfaces. Ranging from dry/safe readings to wet/risk of structural damage readings.

2. Wood Moisture Content (PINS) (WMC): This represents the actual percentage of water by weight, specifically within timber. Ranging from dry/no decay readings to saturated/high risk of dry rot readings and no risk of infestation to critical risk of infestation.

3. Relative Readings (PAD) (REL): These types of readings use a qualitative scale (typically 0-999) to compare moisture levels across similar materials and locate the most saturated areas. This, combined with a visual inspection, will allow for an accurate diagnosis of the underlying causes of dampness. REL readings do not give an exact percentage but help identify patterns and gradients of moisture deep within the wall surfaces without damaging the surface.

Our reports will also include the causes of dampness or infestations, together with treatments to rectify the issues. The treatments will be explained in details on what works we can carry out and the cost to do the works.
